State of Franklin Program Employee

The State of Franklin Health Council provides assistance with the Senior Community Service Employment Program to the residents of Swain, Macon, Clay, Jackson, Cherokee, Haywood, Graham, Buncombe, Madison, Transylvania and Henderson counties - as well as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians(EBCI).

The requirements for State of Franklin positions are:
• 55 or older
• Income eligible
• Seeking employment
​
These positions are typically 20 hours per week and minimum wage ($7.25/hr). They are also temporary with a 4 year cap. To be considered at our libraries please fill out a substitute application and call one of our libraries to see if you qualify for the position.
